The top 11 Questions most asked by Visitors to Palm Springs

11. How do I get to the Marriot?
Many people exit at Hwy 111 coming from LA. To reach the Marriot you need to exit at Cook Street about 15 miles down the freeway.

10. How far is Joshua Tree Park?
About 45 minutes to an hour. Leave Palm Springs going north on Indian Canyon and continue for about 15 miles, crossing interstate 10. Indian Canyon will dead end at route 62, turn right and continue to Joshua Tree, then follow the signs.

9. Where is the tram?
Continue up the private road in front of the Visitor's Center for about 4 miles. You will come to the tram station, buy the tickets there. The tram goes every half hour and costs $21.95 for adults until 3 PM then price is reduced to $18.95.

8. Is it always this windy?
Yes, the pass going west to Los Angeles is one of the windiest places in the world. That's why they put the windmills there.

7. We used to go to this place, is it still there?
Email a brief description to jim@franklinps.com and I'll see if I can find an answer for you.

6. Do you have a map of the hiking trails?
No, they are too hard to map, but there is a description of the major trails available at the visitors center.

5 What's the story on the windmills?
They generate about 1% of the electricity for California. There is a tour you can take of the windmills. Their office I located in North Palm Springs at Dillon Road and Indian Canyon just about 2 miles from the freeway.

4. Do you have that Architectural map?
Yes, we sell it for $5.00 at the Visitor's Center. It is produced by the Palm Springs Modernism Committee.

3. Where does Frank Sinatra live?
Well, for now he is at the cemetery located at Ramon and Duvall road. He used to live off of Frank Sinatra Drive in Rancho Mirage and before that had a home at 1148 E. Alejo Road in Palm Springs.
